On Good Friday in Downtown Los Angeles, CLUE faith leaders from across Southern California united with Los Angeles Catholic Worker and UNITE HERE Local 11 for an unforgettable Stations of the Workers’ Cross event!

Remembering the sufferings of Christ in Christian faith traditions alongside the struggles of hospitality workers in Southern California and beyond, we modeled the Beloved Community of solidarity and liberation that will guide us through this year’s transformative fight for 100 life-changing contracts! We’re in this unprecedented moment right now, not only preparing to renegotiate their contracts.

Norma Reyes, who cleans over 2,000 dishes by hand on any given day, said it’s cruel when one becomes a senior and can no longer be independent. She currently makes $18.04 an hour and says that as a single mother, she’s had to borrow money from others to make it in Los Angeles
