Spiritual Wellspring gathering offers sustenance in trying times.

On November 20, 2023, we gathered to partake from a rich spiritual wellspring in this demanding season.

CLUE members near and far heard from Christian, Muslim, Buddhist and Jewish faith leaders about the teachings and practices that sustain them in these trying time.

Thank you to our guest speakers:

  • Akbar Hussaini (Newport Mesa Irvine Interfaith Council)
  • Rev. Gyokei Yokoyama (Montebello Sozenji Buddhist Temple/Soto Zen Buddhism North America)
  • Yehudah Webster (Inside Out Wisdom and Action Project).

Rev. Jennifer Gutierrez, CLUE’s Executed director shared: “In my Christian tradition we know that the Beloved Community is here on earth and is not yet.” May we practice what Dr. Cornel West calls “subversive joy and revolutionary patience” and may this Spiritual Wellspring help incline you toward that practice.

Solidarity is Sacred

Clergy and Laity United for Economic Justice educates, organizes, and mobilizes religious leaders and community members to walk with workers while advocating for good jobs, safe workplaces, and healthy communities.

We can stand with low-wage workers, mostly immigrants and communities of color, because people like you support an organized and connected interfaith movement for economic justice.

Please join the movement to build an economy that works for everyone, not just those at the top.
