Def Justice – July 3, 2025

Def Justice is an emerging grassroots campaign created by Clergy and Laity United for Economic Justice’s Black and Brown Community and Clergy Coaltion.

Def Justice stands for diversity, equity, and freedom.

Def Justice is a people-driven campaign for divestment from plantation capitalism and other harmful systerms and reinvestment back into our local communities.

On July 3, we’ll “squabble up” through arts and culture, starting with a “freedom cruise” followed by a launch rally for Def Justice.

We’ll be sharing more details shortly, but for now please think about:

  • Your ideas for refusing plantation capitalism
  • How you can bring joyful resistance to a day of celebration of the power of the people.

To prepare, please do the following:

  • Create a Signal login connected to the cell phone number you provided on your registration.

We’ll hold regular onboarding in Signal chat to help you tap into the Def Justice campaign.

Thank you for staying flexible as we get this new initiative rolling.

Solidarity is Sacred

Clergy and Laity United for Economic Justice educates, organizes, and mobilizes faith leaders and community members to walk with workers and immigrants in their struggles for good jobs, safe workplaces, and healthy communities.

We can accompany low-wage workers—mostly immigrants and communities of color—because people like you support an organized, connected interfaith movement for economic justice.

Please join the movement to build an economy that works for everyone, not just those at the top.
