Pomona College Fires 16 Workers During Holiday Season

Pomona College administrators performed an internal audit to confirm the immigration status of all immigrant workers, many of whom had worked at the college for over a decade. The worker struggle for rights reached a peak last Friday: Pomona College fired 16 workers, who refused to re-verify their immigration status. As a faith community that recognizes prophets over profits (though there is plenty of profit to go around), we are deeply concerned to know that the administration’s actions have occurred in the context of workers seeking better conditions and unionization.

Supporting Tomato Farmworkers
